I thought I would start a new series of posts on each of my children. I will go in birth order because that seems to be easiest. Isaiah is 12. He’s currently in the 6th grade here at SilvaMoose Academy. His favorite color is black. He would like me to paint his room orange and black but I don’t see that anywhere in the near future. His likes include playing the computer with dad, riding his bike, and playing cards. His head is currently bald but usually he has hair. His favorite food is spaghetti with lots of parmesan cheese. His best friend is another boy named Isaiah that lives in our neighborhood. Isaiah is very helpful around the house an is certainly first-born in nature. He is my right hand man and I can ask him to help with nearly anything and he will. He is great with his younger siblings. Isaiah is a good cook and is increasing his skills in that area every day.

I had hoped that today would be a wonderful day of doing many things that simply need done. You know the things I'm talking about, cleaning the cupboards, around the edges of the room with the vacuum, cleaning the ceiling fan, dusting in the china hutch - those kind of things. I was ambitious and had a list a mile long. Today was cleaning with a smile.
Well, sometimes the best laid plans lay in ruin. Such is today, so far, I'm not throwing in the towel totally yet. It is 10:30 a.m. and we are just sitting down to our lovely breakfast. By the time we clean up this mess it will be 11 or 11:30. Then Jubilee will need to nap and just a half hour later Hosanna and Beth will need to be put down for some rest. This is not turning out the way I planned!

I've been thinking that I needed to get moving a bit more and watch what I'm eating but my friend Jennifer the straw that broke the camel's back. So what I'm committing to for the next 30 days is to watch what I eat and exercise enough to loose 10 pounds. It's only a small step twords where I need to be but it all adds up.
What things do you need to work on these next 30 days? They could be the start of a whole new life for you! What will you commitment will you make?

I've always wanted to adopt and I'm not giving up on that dream. There are so many wonderful children in this world that need a loving home. I read somewhere that if 1 out of 7 Christian families adopted a child there would be no more orphans. Perhaps the family for this little girl is yours! I urge you to seek the Lord about this and maybe if it's not this child there is another.

I can hardly believe another year has flown by. I remember hearing adults talk about how much time faster time goes when you are an adult but I never believed them. It took forever to get to Christmas and then forever 'till summer vacation started and then that went on forever and I couldn't wait for school to start again. Now that I'm an adult time really is different. I never have time to get all the things done that I need to in any given day. I am continually amazed at how fast the kids are growing. It really seems like Jubilee has been here maybe 4 or 5 months and yet she is 9 months old.
I am working on redeeming my time or better yet the time that God has given me. I am going to work this year on making sure my priorities are what get accomplished and that life doesn't just pass me by because I am squandering my time. The Bible says, "See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is." We all need to be making sure to get accomplished those things that God has asked of us and the rest will fall into place.

I am blogging because I feel guilty about not blogging for so long. So...in an attempt not to be a bad blogger I will give you a few bits of randomness.
- My baby is cranky right now because she is nearly ready for bed. I need to feed her and change her diaper so this post will not be too long.
- I have been thinking a lot about my New Year's resolutions.
- I wonder if anybody even reads my blog.
- We just finished playing a card game that my husband invented. It needs a little bit of work but it's not too bad.
- My dog has acne. Somebody in our house needs to put medicine on it.
- There are shavings from the pencil sharpener on my floor right now. I am not exactly sure how they got there but I'm sure I will be the one picking them up.
- I have a whole container of chocolates that I am trying to share with my family but secretly I would like to hide them and eat them at will.
- My favorite tea is Red Rose (decaf).
- My back is hurting right now.
- I really like the James Taylor song "September Grass." I really like James Taylor period, he has a very soothing voice.
- I have to go to the dentist on Monday and I am dreading it. I HATE the dentist.
- It's been very nice not being able to go out this week because of the snow.
- I don't know what we will do for school tomorrow but I will figure it out in the morning. I like Tapestry of Grace but I am having a hard time with the writing/language portion of things. I think I need the CD to make better sense of it all.

This was over heard in my kitchen this morning:
Hosanna: Daddy, let's play husband and wife.
Mike: Okay
Hosanna: You will be the husband and I will be the wife.
Mike: Sounds good.
Hosanna: You have to come when I call you!
I think I need to start reading "Created to be His Helpmeet" to her now.

Kids drink A LOT more milk when there is chocolate involved? We recently inherited a bottle of chocolate syrup from Grandma. All of the sudden I am faced with buying more milk during the week because we are out. I am going to have to start cutting them off and it's not going to be pretty.
