I got to go on a date with a VERY beautiful woman.
Thanks to Pastor and Paula Schopf, who watched our children on Friday night, Momma and I got to go out to dinner and bowling. We went to the Olive Garden for dinner and TechCity for bowling. The Olive Garden was pretty good. The portions sure did seem smaller. I had to go back and eat more salad after I finished my lasagna just to get full. The food still was as good as I remembered and the company was great. It is funny though, I remember a time when going out to eat was the highlight of the week, but it just wasn't the same as it used to be. I think I might be getting old. Momma did tell me during dinner that she would have been just as happy at home. (not that she wasn't happy, but we were discussing the above topic)
Next we went bowling. We paid for 30 minutes of bowling and figured we would pay for another 30 minutes after the first 30 were over. The first thing I noticed was, WOW we are bowling fast. Normally we go bowling with the children and it takes a LONG time just to bowl one game. It almost seemed wrong to be bowling so fast. We barely had time to talk to each other. Oh well we had fun, but just like dinner, it just wasn't the same as when we were young.
We had told the Pastor that we would be back to pick up the kids around 9:30 pm, but ended up back at their house at 8:30 pm. We got to spend a few hours with the Schopf's just talking and it was probably the best part of the night. It is very funny how much Momma and I have changed.
All in all I hope we get to do that again, but most of all I am just very thankful to have such a wonderful woman as my wife.
