Beth: “No more poopin’ in the kitchen Daddy!”

I thought I would start a new series of posts on each of my children.  I will go in birth order because that seems to be easiest.

Isaiah is 12.  He’s currently in the 6th grade here at SilvaMoose Academy.  His favorite color is black.  He would like me to paint his room orange and black but I don’t see that anywhere in the near future.  His likes include playing the computer with dad, riding his bike, and playing cards.  His head is currently bald but usually he has hair.  His favorite food is spaghetti with lots of parmesan cheese.  His best friend is another boy named Isaiah that lives in our neighborhood.

Isaiah is very helpful around the house an is certainly first-born in nature.  He is my right hand man and I can ask him to help with nearly anything and he will.  He is great with his younger siblings.  Isaiah is a good cook and is increasing his skills in that area every day.

I had hoped that today would be a wonderful day of doing many things that simply need done.  You know the things I'm talking about, cleaning the cupboards, around the edges of the room with the vacuum, cleaning the ceiling fan, dusting in the china hutch - those kind of things.  I was ambitious and had a list a mile long.  Today was cleaning with a smile.

Well, sometimes the best laid plans lay in ruin.  Such is today, so far, I'm not throwing in the towel totally yet.  It is 10:30 a.m. and we are just sitting down to our lovely breakfast.  By the time we clean up this mess it will be 11 or 11:30.  Then Jubilee will need to nap and just a half hour later Hosanna and Beth will need to be put down for some rest.  This is not turning out the way I planned!

I've been thinking that I needed to get moving a bit more and watch what I'm eating but my friend Jennifer the straw that broke the camel's back.  So what I'm committing to for the next 30 days is to watch what I eat and exercise enough to loose 10 pounds.  It's only a small step twords where I need to be but it all adds up.

What things do you need to work on these next 30 days?  They could be the start of a whole new life for you!  What will you commitment will you make?

I've always wanted to adopt and I'm not giving up on that dream.  There are so many wonderful children in this world that need a loving home.  I read somewhere that if 1 out of 7 Christian families adopted a child there would be no more orphans.  Perhaps the family for this little girl is yours!  I urge you to seek the Lord about this and maybe if it's not this child there is another.
