Noodles for Noah

We are putting on a Spahgetti Dinner and Silent Auction to help raise money to bring Noah home.   Out of the $24,000 we needed to raise we have a little less than $7,000 left.  The last bit of money will be going to travel arangements, food & lodging while in Eastern Europe, and the last bit of our facilitators fees.

If you are interested in joining us on May 21st at 5pm, 6pm or 7pm, just click on the Noodles for Noah banner above to register and purchase you tickets!

Thank you in advance for attending and helping us bring Noah home & if you have want more information check out the "Noodles for Noah" page here on silvamoose.com

Just who is he and what are the Silva's up to?

Noah is a little guy in an orphanage in an Eastern European country.  We have committed to adopting Noah and are working hard to raise the money to be able to bring him home sometime before this summer.

There has been a lot of prayer that has gone into this decision and it was not taken lightly by Grace nor I.  We believe that the Lord has opened the door to this and we intend to fully step through the open door.

We are now asking you to pray and if you feel led we would greatly appreciate the financial assistance to make this happen.  Most importantly we are asking for prayer.  We understand that not all people will be able to give money, and we know that money is nothing if God is not in it.  So most importantly please pray for us, the children and for Noah.

With Momma's and Gabes birthdays coming up soon; Jessie's tomorrow, January 27th and Gabes on the 29th, we decided to go out to celebrate.  We went out bowling.  When we first started planning this trip, my mind was thinking of the old days of bowling.  I was thinking we could get in a few games, have some snacks and it would be a stress reliever.

I was a bit off though.  We had fun, but it wasn't much of a stress reliever.  First of all we had to get shoes for everyone except for Momma and I.  We have our own from way back when we had time to bowl together.  It was a good thing Jessie was there otherwise I would have NO idea what sizes were needed.

The next thing was getting all the bowling balls needed.  This wasn't hard because the kids were in charge of finding balls for themselves.  Well the big kids at least.  This took a little more time then I thought.  The children all wanting to get the best ball spent much time deciding.  You know it is less about weight and usability and more about getting the cool, or pretty ball in Elisha's case.

I think at this point we started to bowl.  Wait, Momma had to input all the names.  She did great and that didn't take too long.  Okay now we are bowling.  Did you know it takes a LONG time to get through 6 bowlers, especially when one of them is Hosanna.  The first ball she and Momma rolled down the lane got stuck half way down.  I had to find someone to retrieve it for us.  After that we helped Hosanna a little more by providing a hefty push, and by the end I was helping her roll the balls down my arms to gain a little momentum.

Okay, now about an hour into the game, and 5 frames we decide Elizabeth would do better with food.  I rushed to the resturaunt at the front of the alley and bought a "Pound O' Fries" and two drinks.  This helped Beth, but slowed our bowling process a bit.  The fries were great, and we were having fun.  The only downside to fries was the greasy hands, but we aren't pro bowlers so it didn't matter too much.

As the game got closer to ending we then had another issue.   Hosanna was getting tired of bowling and was getting distracted by the arcade games behind us.  The children were great and helped us keep an eye on the two youngest girls as they sat in a race care chair watching the video for a racing game.  Elisha and Momma ended up bowling for Hosanna torward the end of the game.  This turned out to be okay and sort of made up for the time we were using just keeping an eye on the girls.

Finally the game was completed.  Not 3 games, not 2, just 1 game a piece for each of us.  I guess I shouldn't complain too much.  At least it ended up being cheaper than paying for two right.

All in all we had a very fun outing and the kids had a blast.  Even though it wasn't stress free, we still had fun.  Praise God for allowing us to have time with our children who are a gift.
