CIMG3124The Silva’s are packing up the van and getting ready for camp.  Church camp is from Monday July 6th to Friday July 10th.  We all love camp, but it takes a few days to get completely packed up.

We started packing early Friday morning (the 3rd of July) and are still packing up tonight (Sunday the 5th)  As you can see in this picture we were just started, but since then we have almost completely filled the back.

We have everything we will need for a fun time.  We even found out that our fish limit may be higher this year!  Woooo Hooo!

We had a pretty good time packing up on Friday for Camp.  The weather has been good and I got Friday off from work.  You put those two together and you have the makings of a GOOOOOD day.

While we were packing we even took Otter pop breaks as you can see at the bottom.  I included some of our other pictures from Friday.  I hope you enjoy.  Also you are always welcome to come to album.silvamoose.com to see more pictures of the Moose Family.

Well, I better get going.  I need to help Momma finish packing, or I might end up sleeping on the couch tonight.

If I don’t post again before we get back from camp, you all have a GREAT week, and God bless.

I was very excited to take my boys to the second Transformers movie.  We had seen the first one together in the theatre, and it was pretty good.  There were a couple of spots with bad words and a little more flesh than I would like my boys to see, but the majority of the movie was okay for my boys.

I was assuming that the second Transformer movie would be about the same.  I had my reservations in bringing the boys, but it is hard to pass up the very cool robot special effects.  I will tell you now, I should have.

I was very disappointed in the entire movie.  It didn’t take but a couple minutes before there was swearing, and within the first 30 minutes there was more flesh than the entire first movie, along with scenes of two dogs engaging in sexual acts.  Why do you need that in a Transformers movie.  Come on!

The movie was full of swearing and sexually explicit content.  You even get subjected to a man wearing G-String underwear.  The action was good, but the plot was lame and honestly the movie lacked much content.  Even if there was none of the dumb stuff it still would have been a little dry, but I don’t go to Transformer movies expecting much of a plot.

I would have been fine with a movie with no plot and a whole lot of action, but with all the other stuff, (sexual content and swearing) it just isn’t worth seeing.

As a Christian I highly recommend not seeing this movie, and NOT buying it.

I was just surfing around our SilvaMoose SmugMug page again and found a very good Jubilee birthday video.  Her birthday was March 20th, but I think you all will still get a kick out of her birthday cake experience.  Jubilee turned 1 on March 20th and as you all know, that is when the baby gets to have the cake all their own.  They don’t get to eat it all, but they get to eat it however they want.  Usually it is guaranteed to be messy.

Cake, cake, cake, cake !!!!

I hope you enjoy it.  She sure did.

I was looking on our SilvaMoose SmugMug account and the new videos I uploaded early this week.  The videos were from January, but they are still pretty good.  I especially liked the one with Jubilee and Ivy in it.

My girls, one hairy, one cute

In the video you get to hear Jubilee’s little cackle laugh.  It is pretty darned cute.  You also get to see Ivy the wonder acme dog.  I didn’t know dogs got pimples.

Last night was a good night for me.

First of all, I went to bed at 8:15!  That is good for me.  There is nothing like looking at my alarm clock and seeing that I have a long nights rest ahead.

Hosanna asleep in the living roomSecondly, I woke up in the middle of the night and noticed that Jubilee, my youngest daughter was right up next to me.  I was very happy, and wrapped my arm around her warm little body.  Normally, I rank way down the ladder compared to Momma, so having Jubilee being extra cuddly in the middle of the night was awesome for me.  Maybe Jubilee is slowly become a Daddy’s girl like Hosanna and Elisha.  I won’t count on it yet, but I was very happy with last nights sleeping arrangements.

Elisha asleep on the recliner Thirdly, it was nice to wake up and see two beautiful girls sleeping nice a quietly.  Yes they sleep good most every night, but usually they are tucked away in their rooms and I don’t see them in the morning.  Last night Hosanna and Elisha slept on the recliners, so I got to see them on the way out the door.  They looked so peaceful so I took pictures.

For those wondering, Elisha slept in the living room because her bed mate, Elizabeth was sick and Elisha was worried about getting thrown up on.  Hosanna on the other hand just wanted an adventure with her big sister.

I took the time this morning before work to upload 8 videos for March 2009.  I played through them and they are all pretty good.  One of my favorites is of Jubilee.

Jubilee on a piano

She was having a great time.  She is growing up so fast.  She is already a year old and is finally getting her first tooth.  Before we know it she won’t be the baby anymore.  She will be a big sister to the new baby in October.

Sleeping on the floor of Dad's OfficeAs many of you who are friends of mine in Facebook already know, my daughter got a chance to come to work with me on Tuesday.  The older kids love coming to work with me, and I enjoy it too.  Usually they come to work with me on the “Maintenance Saturdays” we have here at CRISTA about once every month or so.  This time was going to be different for Elisha, and she was very excited.

The reason she was coming to work with me on a weekday was sort of my fault.  On Elisha’s birthday, she received in the mail a $5 gift certificate from Build-A-Bear.  Well the certificate expired on March 31st, and I kept on forgetting to get Elisha to the Build-A-Bear store to cash it in.  Finally this last Sunday, Elisha reminded me again, except this time I was running out of time.  So, I thought about it and consulted Momma, and we decided she could come to work with me and I would take her to Build-A-Bear at lunch.

Elisha Sleeping on the FloorWe left the house around 4:30am and arrived here at CRISTA at 5am.  I wanted to get some things done and wanted to be able to take a couple hours with Elisha for lunch.  Elisha didn’t complain at all for being woken up so early.  She was all ready to go.  The night before she had packed all the things she would need for her “Work Day” to include pillows and a blanket.

Elisha ended up sleeping for a couple hours on the floor in my office, and once she was up she was ready for the day.  We went to breakfast at the Arbor, and after yogurt and OJ she sat quietly doing her schoolwork.  Between reading, doing schoolwork and crocheting, Elisha kept herself busy, and I am very proud of how well she did.

Lastly but not least, we did end up making it to Build-A-Bear.  Elisha ended up getting a white skirt and shirt for her stuffy!

It looks like a long weekend is almost over.  Grace went to a retreat, and I had King’s Auction to work on.  I am very thankful the weekend is over, even though I may not be looking forward to working tomorrow.  It almost seems like I need a weekend to recover from my weekend.

Grace got back today from her retreat, and she is napping.  I think this weekend wore her out too.  She left Friday at around noon for her retreat.  I took the day off from work to watch the kids, but ended up doing about 3 hours of work from home.

Friday night we went to the bank and then to Alfy’s Pizza.  The pizza was great, and the kids love Alfy’s because of the video games there.  Then we came home and cleaned the house before playing about three hours of Wii.

I dropped the kids off early Saturday morning at Grandma and Grandpa’s house.  Needless to say we didn’t get our morning chores done.  I had to be at work by 10am and that meant I had to have the kids ready to drop off at 9ish.

I just want to break away from the weekend narrative to just say, “Grandma and Grandpa Taylor are the best!”  The Taylor’s are a wonderful family and they love our children very much.  We are so blessed that God brought us to North Creek Baptist Church, where we met the Taylor’s.  The Taylor’s love our family just like we were flesh and blood.  It has gotten to the point where it doesn’t even seem like they aren’t family.  They’re family and that’s pretty much all there is to it.

The kids had a blast as always.  They had fun with Josh and Christa who are just like an uncle and aunt, and Elizabeth spent a lot of the weekend cuddling with Grandpa.

I worked at the Lynnwood Convention Center pretty much from 10am to midnight and got home around 1:30am.  King’s Auction went well and none of the computers broke down.  Praise God!

Elisha's Hair, done by Grandma and ChristaOn Sunday I went to church and the kids all looked great.  Grandma and Christa had done all the girls hair, and they did AWESOME on Elisha’s hair.  She looked very beautiful.  She is growing up so fast and is starting to look like a young lady.

The other cool thing was that the church was having a pot-luck lunch after church, so I didn’t have to try and figure out lunch for the kids.  I would have been okay either way though, because Grandma T invited us over to lunch before she realized it was pot-luck Sunday.

Last but not least, Momma (Grace) got home around 4pm and we are all glad she is back.  She said she had a great trip, and had a good time with Mrs. Schopf.  (the Pastor’s wife)

So there you have it.  That was our weekend.  I am still tired, but I am happy that the Lord took care of us through the entire weekend.  It will be nice though to get back to a some what normal life.

I am pretty excited today.  I just finished hooking up my new computer.  With income tax return, I ordered two computers from Dell, and yesterday mine came in.  One day earlier Momma’s PC came in the mail, and I got that all set up for her.

The bad thing about my computer coming in the mail yesterday was that I didn’t get a chance to set it up.  We have church on Wednesdays, and I couldn’t see skipping church just to set my computer up.  So long story short, my computer is up and running and I am happy.

I am typing this blog entry from my new install of Windows Live Writer!!

Well that’s about it.  Have a great weekend all.

I found out that hosanna was the best Wii Boxer in the house, and I got to see her in action a couple nights ago.  She was dancing and swinging, and it was very cute.  The bummer part was that I didn't have my camera at the house to video tape her.

Last night I remembered to bring my camera home and I video recorded my daughter playing Wii Boxing.  The object is to punch a punching bag until you know it off the hook.  You have so much time to knock as many bags off the hook as you can.  As far as I know, Hosanna still holds the record in our family.  See below to see just how she does it.

Hosanna, our Wii Boxing Champion!!
